A belated thank you to the Star Tribune Editorial Board for its Oct. 29, 2016, re-election endorsement of U.S. Rep. Erik Paulsen ( "Third District: Paulsen earns nod"). It makes a handy measuring stick for evaluating Paulsen's work this session. The Editorial Board wrote: "Congress needs more moderate Republicans like Paulsen."
"We're here today demanding that Erik Paulsen hold quarterly, public, publicized and unscripted town hall meetings throughout the 115th Congress," said Clara Severson of Eden Prairie. The protest was organized by Indivisible CD3, the local incarnation of a group that bills itself on its website as "former congressional staffers [revealing] best practices for making Congress listen."
The Democrats are calling out the Republican administration over communications with Russia that may have included the issue of current and future sanctions ( "Trump told of Flynn deceit weeks ago," Feb. 15). National intelligence is secretive by nature, and this whole situation should certainly not be broadcast and vetted in our media, most focused on "fake news" sensationalism these days.
