Letter: Phone town halls lack substance

I would like to respond to Erik Paulsen's excuses for not holding town halls for his constituents. I find two key problems with his explanation. First, he stated that he is the only member of the Minnesota delegation with open office hours.

Rep. Erik Paulsen's campaign mostly fueled by out-of-state special interests | City Pages

Another thank you to City Pages for reporting on Rep. Erik Paulsen -- this time on his re-election financing, another topic that other local news sources appear to avoid. Pete Kotz's report is demonstrative on two levels. The first, donations by moneyed special interests to Erik Paulsen do influence his votes.

LETTER: Listen up, Rep. Erik Paulsen

To the Editor: Representative Paulsen, how many more lives will it take? You already know what we want, and it still isn't going to change. I don't want to be scared of school anymore.

Letters: Paulsen's phone town halls aren't scheduled

It is very disingenuous of Erik Paulsen to state that he is not going to host real town halls because people will "grandstand." He is denying us the right, his constituents as a group, to have a discussion with him as a community.

Letter: Income taxes aren't going to go down

Rep. Erik Paulsen sure is busy telling everyone how great he thinks the tax reform act is. Erik, if the plan is so fantastic, why don't you plan an in-person town hall and have a conversation with your constituents so you can hear what we think?

Here they are: 2018 Pioneer Press Peeps Diorama Contest winners. And all the rest ...

It was a Friday night in the newsroom and while some of us were preparing to publish a daily newspaper, the rest of us were preparing the Peeps. This was no fluff story though. Well, OK, this story does involve marshmallow fluff, but we still take seriously our roles as judges of the 2018 Pioneer Press Peeps Diorama Contest.

Paulsen Taken To Task For FCC Deregulation, Failure To Act On Guns

Two recent letters to publications based in Minnesota's Third Congressional District suggest that Rep. Erik Paulsen's constituents are losing patience with him. The first letter, penned by Andy Dvorak, appeared in Monday's Sun Sailor. Dvorak expressed frustration with Paulsen's representation of himself as a moderate Republican.

Minnesota GOP Rep. Erik Paulsen's campaign almost entirely funded entirely by corporations and the wealthy | City Pages

Thus far, Paulsen (R-Eden Prairie) has raised an impressive $1.9 million. Yet only a meager 2 percent of that comes from the little people, those donating less than $200. By comparison, his neighbor to the east, Minneapolis Congressman Keith Ellison, has accumulated 54 percent of his war chest through these small donations.

Letter: Erik Paulsen misleads his constituents

I'm responding to Gene Stageberg's letter in the March 29 Sun Sailor, where he describes Rep. Erik Paulsen as a thoughtful, middle-of-the-road conservative. I'd like to highlight just one example where "Rep. Thoughtful" Erik Paulsen fully thought out how to mislead his constituents, all to benefit his most supported constituents.

The 3rd District needs accountability

At a recent Polar Plunge fundraising event in Eden Prairie, I was standing next to a very dear friend when Congressman Erik Paulsen approached the launching pad. My friend clapped loudly, and said something akin to "He's a good man." I've never met Mr. Paulsen, but my friend has, so I'm inclined to trust his judgement.

Political representation: Daschle's example shows why you meet constituents face to face

It was late 1987 or early 1988, and my boss at the time, then-U.S.-Sen. Tom Daschle of South Dakota, had just arrived back in the state from Washington, D.C., as he did roughly every two weeks. He was headed to north central South Dakota for a series of face-to-face constituent meetings.

Taco Tuesday with a little Paulsen Spin

Excitement for #TaxCutsAndJobsAct continues is a central theme for Erik Paulsen's re-election ... as he tweets about various companies who have made various announcements that the GOP wants voters to be believe would not have happened without their signature accomplishment.

Paulsen's Right-Wing Gun Votes Don't Represent the Majority of Our District - Part 2

On February 14, 2018, ironically just hours before the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Florida, we published a blog entitled, "Paulsen's Right-Wing Gun Votes Don't Represent The Majority Of Our District ".
